The second in our three-part series examining the superiority of multi-spectral fingerprint sensors over standard biometric readers.
In the rough and tumble of daily life, our hands can become worn, torn and dirty. Especially in the Manufacturing sector, it is common for employees to be working with greasy hands. This in turn means that workers’ fingerprints can be difficult to pick up by conventional biometric readers, which rely on a quality contact between the finger and the platen.
To combat these familiar problems, Mitrefinch has incorporated multi-spectral imaging technology into our latest readers. Multispectral fingerprint sensors are able to capture an image from beneath the surface of the skin, even if the fingertip itself is calloused or injured in some way. Additionally, the new Mitrefinch sensors do not require a perfect contact between the finger and reader; so the common problem of dirty or greasy hands is circumnavigated easily.
In summary, Mitrefinch is steering the way forward in biometrics: our new fingerprint readers are up-to-the-task when faced with worn or dirty hands.
