Leading Time & Attendance and access control solution provider Mitrefinch has announced its partnership with Lumidigm Inc. a US based company who specialise in multispectral imaging biometrics.  Mitrefinch will be among the first companies world wide to integrate Lumidigm’s newest multispectral imaging sensor into its widely used range of biometric fingerprint access control devices.  The Mitrefinch biometric devices featuring multispectral imaging technology will become available from July 2010.

Lumidigm’s Multispectral imaging is a sophisticated technology that was developed to overcome the fingerprint capture problems conventional imaging systems have in less-than-ideal conditions.  Conventional technologies rely on unobstructed and complete contact between the fingerprint and the sensor, a condition that is often elusive in the real world as fingerprint characteristics can be obscured by moisture, dirt or wear.

Mitrefinch time & attendance and access control solutions will now incorporate Lumidigm’s biometric imaging technology which uses multiple spectrums of light and advanced polarization techniques to extract unique fingerprint characteristics from both the surface and subsurface of the skin. 
The net result using Lumidigm’s multispectral imaging means Mitrefinch will now provide biometric fingerprint devices that will overcome problems that conventional technologies face in real world conditions the benefit being results are more secure, reliable and consistent.
