Mitrefinch Payroll customer achieves the Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) Innovation Award

Mitrefinch would like to congratulate Dataplan Payroll Limited on their success at the International Payroll Professionals (IPP) Awards 2009

Dataplan Payroll Limited based in Grimsby have been a Mitrefinch Flexipay customer for over 15 years.  Dataplan Payroll provides a full bureau and payroll outsourcing service to businesses from all commercial sectors within the market place.

Dataplan Payroll Limited, a subsidiary of chartered accountants Forrester Boyd, came out ahead of considerable competition such as the Royal Mail to win the Innovation Award at the Institute of Payroll Professionals’ annual awards ceremony.  A year previously, it was named Payroll Outsourcer of the Year by the same organisation.

Dataplan Director Richard Rowell was delighted the team had once again received the recognition it deserved.  “I am particularly pleased the award was for innovation this year,” he said. “Software we have developed in house had already been given the stamp of approval by our clients.

“Now industry experts agree and, with this award, they have confirmed we are market leaders.”
He and payroll manager Stewart Waddell received the award at the IPP Payroll and Pensions Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Alton Towers Conference Centre, Staffordshire.
Stewart said: “It was a huge event and we were up against a number of companies in our category, including Royal Mail.

“What has given us the edge is that our software paySAFE is flexible, user friendly and accessible through the web.  When we spoke to customers when we were developing it, they said they wanted to access payroll data whenever and wherever.   The answer we came up with provides copy payslips and reports instantly and, most importantly, is secure. It is also simple to manage from our point of view. It has been a win-win.”

Vickie Moss, head of business development at IPP, praised Dataplan’s award-winning efforts. “The Innovation Award created a lot of debate amongst the judges,” she said.  Adding “The nominations submitted were all of a high standard which made it a difficult one to judge.   Dataplan’s nomination was a clear winner though, as it demonstrated how and why the paySAFE software was developed, and the benefits that it provided to their clients.
