At its most basic, the 'Bradford factor' theory is based around the premise that multiple short absences are more disruptive than one long absence. The Bradford Factor report in Mitrefinch TMS allows a supervisor to 'score' each employee according to the disruptiveness of their absences. For example, an employee who has taken one day off for seven weeks in a row will score higher than a second employee who has taken 20 consecutive days off due to a serious illness.
