Wrigley's have used TMS since 1990
The Wrigley Company UK Ltd (Wrigley's) is home to some of the world's best-known and best-loved chewing gum and bubblegum brands.Since 1911 Wrigley's chewing gum has been a refreshing part of everyday life in the UK. Over 28 million people in the UK regularly chew gum for the enjoyment and variety of benefits it brings.
Through Wrigley's constant innovation, chewing gum can provide breath freshening, dental benefits, nasal clearance, throat soothing and tooth whitening. In addition it aids concentration, eases stress, enhances memory and reduces the symptoms of a dry mouth.
Wrigley has used Mitrefinch's TMS system for many years at its Plymouth site, starting back in the early 1990s with the original DOS based system. As the company has grown, Wrigley has strived to make the most of new technologies and in November 2000 updated to the Windows based TMS system.
The system now covers more than 600 employees and is run by two administrators.
Carrie Partridge, Payroll Supervisor at Wrigley says: "We use the system in a number of ways. The reporting function allows us to monitor anomalies, absences and sickness, and the ability to email these reports is extremely useful.
"When employees clock onto the system it captures this information quickly and easily which is essential when you have a large number of people clocking at the beginning and end of shifts."
Wrigley generates weekly clock card reports which are used to manage hours planned against hours worked, helping to plan future shifts more effectively.
Carrie adds: "We export the data captured by TMS to our payroll system to help us accurately produce each employee's wages with ease.
"TMS also makes the process of holiday requests simple, which saves time and provides a better service to our staff.
"With each new upgrade the system gets better and better. By using the system to its full potential the benefits are vast."
