The Council selected Mitrefinch’s TMS system for its range of combined functions and apparent ease of use.
Portsmouth City Council provides a wide range of services to residents including social services, education, planning, housing, leisure, economic development, tourism, highways, waste management, libraries and many more.
Portsmouth City Council formerly used a manual key card clock system, but with over 1700 employees and countless visitors each day a computerised system was needed.
The Council selected Mitrefinch's TMS system for its range of combined functions and apparent ease of use.
Dave Read, Facilities Manager at Portsmouth City Council says : "We required a time management system which would link easily to other systems, including access control. Portsmouth City Council was rapidly expanding due to the National move to Unitary Councils and we needed to revolutionise our approach to managing our time and attendance requirements."
The Council uses the system across its four main buildings where its office staff are based. The system is operated by two administrators and a weekly series of reports are generated using the integrated reporting facility.
Dave adds: "The administrators are able to monitor clockings and quickly determine who is on site at any onetime. A monthly hours report is also very useful."
The system's Advanced Planner enables local councils to monitor, plan, forecast and budget with greater control, taking into account absentees, cost per employee and employee specific skill sets. Email functionality allows administrators to issue reports and automate emails requiring outstanding action to supervisors on a daily basis.
With TMS, councils can administer flexitime and various work patterns efficiently and with ease.
