Pilkington has been using TMS since 1997
Pilkington Special Glass, based at St Asaph, Denbighshire, in Wales, produces a range of glass products including optical glass and radiation shielding glass, and employs around 170 staff.
In 1997 Pilkington took the decision to look for a computerised time and attendance system to replace its previous bespoke system which was becoming dated.
Following a review of the products available Pilkington selected Mitrefinch's TMS system.
Craig Petch, IT Manager at Pilkington says: "We chose TMS as we perceived it to be technically well written and easy to use, and we have not been disappointed! TMS has proved to be a reliable and efficient tool."
TMS features a powerful report writing tool which allows managers to report on past and present time and attendance and employee data. Managers can also use the reporting tool to make future projections based on current data. Reports can either be displayed on screen, printed, represented as graphs or emailed to specific people and frequently used reports can be saved for future usage.
Custom reports can be created to suit individual requirements. Using this Report Writer, Pilkington has designed its own reports to provide the management information required by the company.
Craig adds: "The Report Writer is easy to use and allows us to quickly and easily produce specific reports tailored to our requirements.
"The main benefit of TMS for Pilkington is that it is robust and provides accurate data."
"Staff took to the system well as they were accustomed to using clocking cards"
