MEL Aviation use TMS, HR Manager and Flexipay Payroll

MEL Aviation Ltd in Sudbury, Suffolk, is involved in various areas of overhaul, repair and manufacturing of aerospace products. The company started out modestly in 1968 in the small village called Hatfield Heath. Today the company boasts a staff of 120 at its Sudbury site and operates 24 hours a day to ensure a fast turnaround of components and maximise use of workshop space.

Previously MEL Aviation managed its Human Resources department entirely manually. In addition to a manual clock card system, all records for holidays and absence were written down and stored in files. The company was also outsourcing its payroll services.

In March 2003, the company decided to install three Mitrefinch products, TMS, Flexipay Payroll and HR Manager.

MEL Aviation has also brought payroll back in house and, with Mitrefinch's Flexipay Payroll, has experienced greater accuracy of payrolls.

John says: "Bringing payroll back in house has saved us resources, especially as we no longer need to pay fees to outsource it. It also gives us a greater degree of flexibility and subsequently control over managing all aspects of payroll. All data is at hand instantly and the custom designed reports provide the information required for making informed management decisions."

The customisation options of Mitrefinch's HR Manager provide efficient solutions to HR administration tasks such as changes to pay, job details, changes of address etc. It has also greatly improved attendance monitoring. HR Manager also provides a vast range of relevant employee-based reports, which are also customisable to suit individual needs.
