Lola Group is a globally recognised supplier of advanced technology solutions to many industries, including aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and communications.
One of the best-known names in automobile racing, Lola celebrated 50 years in motorsport during 2008. The company has designed and built more racing cars than any other constructor. Almost 4000 cars proudly wear the famous Lola badge and many Formula One champions have raced and won in Lola cars during their careers.
Lola appraised a number of systems to replace their existing HR and time and attendance systems. Whilst they all offered significant improvements over the old system, their users all agreed that the Mitrefinch software was the most user-friendly and intuitive.
Lola had the system installed in October 2008. The features they were particularly looking for were integration with their Sage 80 payroll system, increased functionality and biometric identification of employees.
The benefits to Lola Group have been significant. They enjoy greater functionality, and the biometric terminals mean an increase in the accuracy of data in the system. TMS also offers powerful custom reporting.
Chris Caffyn is the IT Manager at Lola. He says "It saves a great deal of time as we used to have to re-key data into disparate systems. Initially there was some mistrust as we were upgrading to biometrics. This quickly died down and the system is now well utilised by most staff."
With 270 employees across 2 sites, Mitrefinch's integrated solution gives Lola far more visibility of the system from anywhere in the company. They have been able to spread the responsibility for absence management through the various team leaders/managers which has proved to be extremely efficient.
