Anchor Magnets
Sheffield-based Anchor Magnets is one of Britain's leading manufacturers of magnetic extrusion and flexible magnetic sheet products. 
The company's products include flexible magnetic sheets, office magnets, magnetic assemblies and magnetic ink-jet paper.
Anchor Magnets' 22,000 sq ft manufacturing facility serves customers from the UK, Europe and beyond. In 2001, the company decided to implement the Mitrefinch TMS system to enhance overall management of its 100 employees.
Neil O'Keefe, Company Accountant at Anchor Magnets reports: " We chose Mitrefinch's TMS because it was a cost-effective solution to our requirements. We previously had a manual clocking-in machine, which meant employee hours were manually entered into the payroll system. Naturally, this used to take up a lot of HR administration time. With TMS in place, it is easy to manage working time efficiently."
Mitrefinch TMS enables users to monitor absences via a planner, or with standard or user-defined reports. The system also allows managers to plan future shifts, rotas and holidays. TMS can either be used alone or integrated with other Mitrefinch products to provide an individually tailored employee management solution.
Neil continues: "The system saves us valuable administration time by allowing us to record employee hours and feed them directly into the payroll system. The system also allows us to plan future shifts and rotas that are automatically in accordance with employees' holidays. Holiday entitlements, absence profiles and future work plans can be interrogated on an ad hoc basis."
TMS provides companies and managers with the opportunity to run detailed reports that can be customised to the users' needs. The report writing tool allows managers to report on past and present data with managers able to make future projections based on the management information generated.
Neil adds: "At Anchor Magnets, payroll reports are run and checked weekly. The information is then entered into spreadsheets for future analysis and also fed into the payroll system. We also check and categorise anomalies on a daily basis.
